A source of energy: Anne D.

It was such a fantastic feeling, to walk over the Brooklyn Bridge despite my MS.

A solid 20 years have passed since Anne D., a 50-year-old teacher, experienced her first attack of MS. Until 4 years ago she still played tennis and went skiing. Travel is for her an important source of energy. After a stay in New York City one spring, she returned to her professional duties full of pep. It was such a fantastic feeling to walk over the Brooklyn Bridge. It was just the right challenge for my psyche and my whole attitude toward the disease. Of course I was well prepared. I wore comfortable sneakers and inserts gave me a feeling of security. Another great experience was travelling to Namibia and the car trip straight through the middle of Zimbabwe. But the next time I go I will take more breaks, perhaps even spend two days in the same place, in order to make sure I get enough exercise. I have no trouble with sunshine, in fact it does me good. However I do avoid travelling to tropical countries which demand a yellow fever vaccination.
