ACT - Action, Communication and Treatment in MS

What is ACT?

ACT is a support programme to help people with multiple sclerosis to understand and cope with their condition through the various stages of the disease, adhere to a treatment plan, and communicate more effectively with their healthcare providers. Using questionnaires and information sheets, ACT guides people with multiple sclerosis towards a better perception of their illness and helps to manage their expectations of treatment options and their effects.

• ACT provides free interactive information material for its participants.

• ACT explains why it is so important for people with MS to play an active role in decisions on how they cope with their disease.

• ACT encourages programme users to have a better understanding and awareness of their disease and expectations they should place on their therapy. ACT users can make a note of their questions and possible reservations, in order to discuss these during their next session with their doctor or other specialists consulted in the course of treatment.
