PREGNANCY

Any young woman diagnosed with MS is facing many unknowns, but at some point, pregnancy is likely to be a major topic for most of your patients [1,2].

MS is typically diagnosed during the childbearing years.

Approximately two-thirds to three-quarters of people with MS are women, and clinical onset usually occurs during the childbearing years between the ages of 20 and 40 years [3,4]. An Italian survey found that around half of mothers with MS had their first child after receiving their diagnosis [5].

Therefore, family planning is likely to be a major topic for most of your patients [1,2].
